Jill Freeman is a qualified Sonographer and has been working in ultrasound for over twenty years. Her qualifications include the MSc in Medical Imaging and she is registered by the Fetal Medicine Foundation to undertake nuchal translucency scanning for Down’s syndrome screening. Jill has gained years of experience in the ultrasound field and is specialised in several clinical areas of ultrasound including obstetric, gynaecological and abdominal scanning.
Jill has also worked closely with the ultrasound manufacturer Aloka, and has considerable expertise in the equipment, its correct use and image optimisation.
Jill now works independently for both the NHS and private sectors. She was the Superintendent Sonographer at both Kings College Hospital and Chelsea & Westminster Hospital. Whilst at Kings she was involved in several research projects working in the Harris Birthright centre run by Professor Kypros Nicolides.
Jill has an active interest in all aspects of ultrasound and keeps updated by regular attendance at courses, being a member of the British Ultrasound Society and the United Kingdom Association of Sonographers. She also lectures on and teaches the clinical aspects of various ultrasound topics.
