Raf Napolitano is a Consultant in Obstetrics and Fetal Medicine at University College London Hospital, where he works on labour ward, fetal medicine, twins’ clinic, fetal surgery and late fetal growth restriction clinics.
Raf is also an Honorary Associate Professor at the Institute of Women’s Health, University College London, and the Programme Director of the UCL Master Programme in Obstetric Ultrasound and Fetal Medicine. He trained and graduated more than 100 fellows.
He is the Director of the Advanced Practical Ultrasound Course in Obstetric Scanning and Fetal Medicine.
He completed his training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Naples, Federico II, Italy, and the subspecialist training in Maternal and Fetal Medicine in Oxford. He studied neurosonography during his PhD at the University of Naples and the University of Oxford. His research interests are in fetal growth restriction, fetal medicine and fetal surgery, multiple pregnancies, ultrasound imaging, preterm labour and intrapartum care, working within the TRUFFLE group, INTERGROWTH-21st Project and GIFT-SURG.
He is the Chair of the Clinical Standards Committee of the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He published in more than 70 journals, and he is an author of numerous books chapters. He is an invited speaker to many international and national courses and congresses including at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. He was awarded multiple research studies grants including NIHR multimillion grants.
