Mr Spyros Bakalis is a consultant obstetrician and sub-specialist in Maternal and Fetal Medicine at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals, with 15 years of experience in the NHS. He completed his undergraduate training at Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Medical School, whilst concurrently obtaining a scholarship to complete a degree in clinical genetics. He has since been awarded a research MD and has published over 20 articles in intentional journals. He has been accredited as a subspecialty in Maternal and Fetal Medicine by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
Mr Bakalis was appointed to Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in 2017 with a major role in the fetal medicine unit where he carries out a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic services, with a special interest in fetuses with growth complications, brain anomalies and placental abnormalities. He is the lead Obstetrician for women with cardiac disorders in pregnancy. In addition, he is College Tutor and leading the Obstetric department digital work.
Mr Bakalis’ aim is to deliver specialised, high-quality, personalised private maternity care throughout the entire pregnancy journey, whilst aspiring to maintain the highest safety standards for both mother and baby.
